Use as witness cones to monitor firing. Three consecutively numbered cones will show the progress of the firing. Firing cone is properly bent when tip bends to near base of cone in kiln shut-off or setting on electronic controller. Do not apply coating to cones. Large cones require mounting in a commercial cone plaque, clay pat or wire cone holder before use. Mounting height and angle are critical for consistent results. Qualifying Standard: Orton.
